Experiencing Dia de los Muertos in Mexico City was a bucket list trip for me! The Day of the Dead is a vibrant and colorful Mexican tradition that honors loved ones who have passed away. It’s such a fantastic celebration that I believe everyone should experience! If you’re not familiar with it, I highly recommend watching the movie Coco. Not only is it a great film, but it also explains the tradition beautifully. Our adventure began in Mexico City, where we attended the lively Catrina parade with over 6,000 participants and 100,000 spectators! We decorated our faces and celebrated all day long. Next, we headed to Puebla to marvel at the stunning ofrendas (altars) around the city. I had never seen so many marigold flowers in one place! Our final stop was Oaxaca City, where we enjoyed the vibrant comparsas (pop-up parades) that made the festival extra fun and exciting. We visited a local gravesite to see how families decorate the graves and celebrate their loved ones. To wrap up our incredible trip, we traveled to Puerto Escondido, Mazunte, and Huatulco, relaxing on the beautiful beaches.

This trip was a long time coming, and it was worth the wait! Our Greek vacation, originally planned for September 2020, was postponed due to COVID, but good things come to those who wait. Finally, 16 of us jetted off to Greece, kicking off our trip by exploring Athens before embarking on a 10-day island-hopping adventure. Highlights included touring the majestic Acropolis, day-tripping to Delos and Mykonos, and hiking from one end of Santorini to the other (Oia to Fira). We savored mouthwatering traditional foods, explored the iconic white streets and blue rooftops of Santorini, and enjoyed a fantastic meal with a view of the caldera—breathtaking! Our catamaran trip around Santorini was a hit with everyone, and we wrapped up our vacation on the laid-back island of Naxos, where we loved the relaxed atmosphere and charming small town charm.

Vietnam is one of my absolute favorite countries! There’s so much to see and do, with each city offering its own unique experiences. We journeyed over 1000 km by bus, shuttle, taxi, airplane, and train. Our adventure began in Ho Chi Min City, where we savored a delicious home-cooked meal made just for our group by the wonderful hostel owner. We felt so welcomed! Next, we dived into history by exploring the War Museum and Chu Chi Tunnels. A few days later, we soaked up the serene vibes of Da Lat before heading to Mui Ne for some tropical beach time. Hoi An was a cultural treasure trove—we had a blast making lanterns, indulged in lots of Vietnamese coffee (coconut coffee, yum!), and set wishing lanterns afloat on the river. We all agreed we’d need at least a week in Hoi An next time! Another highlight was touring Hue by cyclo and discovering the Imperial City. Hanoi was a bustling metropolis with a vibe completely different from Ho Chi Min. We stayed in the old quarter, wandered through vibrant markets, and ended our trip with an unforgettable three-day Ha Long Bay cruise, where we kayaked, fished for squid, and feasted on traditional dishes.

This vacation we experience everything the Yucatan had to offer.  We climbed a pyramid, toured an island by golf cart, spent the day at a Hacienda and swam in the clearest cenote, toured the ‘yellow’ city, and even explored a flamingo biosphere by boat!  We took a Bike ride around a small town and immersed with the locals. It was an amazing trip!

We kicked off our adventure in San Jose Del Cabo and journeyed through La Paz, Todos Santos, Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, and Queretaro. Our adventure didn’t stop there—we then flew to Cancun to reunite with a friend for the next exciting chapter. From swimming with whale sharks and soaring over the Teotihuacan pyramids in a hot air balloon to exploring the charming town of Todos Santos by bus and wandering the cultural streets of San Miguel de Allende and Queretaro, every moment was a new discovery. The full tour of Mexico City was a whirlwind of sights and sounds, topped off with a lively ride on the Xoximilco party boats!

We zipped around Isla Mujeres in golf carts exploring every inch of the Island. In Merida we wandered the city’s parks and historical buildings then took day trips to Izamal; the enchanting yellow city and Celestun where we enjoyed a private speed boat tour to see the flamingos in the wild. We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon having lunch and relaxing on the most beautiful beach. In Valladolid we swam in the cool cenotes and finally ended our time in Playa Del Carmen where we picked up some last minute souvenirs from the trip. Such wonderful memories and friendships were made on this trip by all!

2018 VPR All Inclusive Group Vacation - Iberostar Tucan - trying out the new snorkel!

This trip was so much fun! We stayed at the Iberostar Tuscan in Playa Del Carmen, with so many resort activities! Each evening, someone from our group hit the stage to snag an award for winning—it was hilarious and exciting! We had the perfect mix of group fun and plenty of solo downtime to do whatever we wanted. Our adventure included a private group tour where we climbed the pyramid at Ek Balam and swam in a hidden cenote cave! We also spent an afternoon at a sister Iberostar resort in Cozumel, switching up the scenery and experiencing a whole new resort. We had such an amazing time this week that none of us wanted it to end!

Our members picked Cuba for the 2019 All-Inclusive destination. By day, we lounged by the resort pool, splashed around at the beach, and took an amazing day tour to Havana. We sailed the seas on a catamaran, explored a sugar cane, rum, and cigar factory, and even hopped on and off buses to see the sights. For many, it was their first time in Cuba, and everyone loved it! We wrapped up our trip with a night of dancing and music at a local Cuban club.
